PENTECOST 2008

God is doing something new in Boston. His faithful from many communities are coming together to celebrate our One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic faith in the Good News of Jesus.
Just as God fired up the Apostles in the upper room to reach out with the gifts of the Holy Spirit to people of all nations, so the Holy Spirit fired up many voices in the Boston Archdiocese.
Members of Brazilian, Hispanic, Ugandan, Nigerian, Haitian, and the Anglo communities joined together to sing Alleluia. Praise the Lord, Now and Forever for the gift of salvation he has won for us. And praise God for the gift of the Holy Spirit that moves us from the confused babel of a world seeking to glorify itself, to the prayer tongues which move us from fear, as if we were locked up in our own upper rooms, to joyfully reaching out and sharing the good news of Jesus.
Happy birthday, Church!
